2009: iseff Year in Review

2009 is about to end and the past week or so I’ve been thinking about the things I’ve accomplished this year and what I want to achieve in the coming year.

With that in mind, here are some of the highlights of my 2009 (in no particular order):

  • Left Amazon.
  • Started AppStoreHQ.
  • Moved to Los Angeles with Colleen. Watched her crush it in so many ways (school, jobs, blogging, etc).
  • Managed to successfully transport a baby tomato plant from Chicago to LA and grew it to produce real tomatoes.
  • Spent more time with family. (This trend needs to continue.)
  • Went to Germany with my Dad to experience the religion that is Nurburgring and F1. Drove a sports car on the autobahn for the first time.
  • Ran my first 5K in October.
  • Became more vegetarian. (On a related note, the percentage of food we now purchase from farmers’ markets and the amount we cook are both much higher.)
  • Was “dragged” to 29 museums (over last 2 years, though).
  • Moved from being exclusively a debit card person to being a credit card person. (Previously I didn’t trust both the credit card industry nor myself to not screw me. Now at least I trust myself.)
  • Got rid of cable and am now happily watching TV via bunny ears, Boxee, and ESPN360.
  • Learned how to actually budget and manage my startup-salary finances.
  • (This hasn’t happened yet, but…) Celebrating my first real Christmas.
